10 Must Haves For Your Work Space!

If you're like me you spend most of your time around a computer. Whether it be for work, or shopping online, you're still using a computer of some sort, and want your desk area to cute and clean. Me personally.. I can't work in a dirty space. At work I make sure the area is super tidy, and as I can't change things such as the desk.. I can change what I use daily. Cute stationary and planners are key to a happy work space, if anything.

I don't have my own set-up yet, as were still in the process of finding our dream home. I do have quite a bit of ideas for our office space though that will be one of the first things we do!

You probably already have the computer, we won't mention that in this list. So if you're in the process of re-doing your office space, or planning to start a new one, here's a couple of key pieces to make it your own!

First, the most obvious one is a desk of course. You want to make sure that you find a desk that not only works for you, but fits in the space your dealing with. Nothing to bulky in a tiny room, and nothing too small in a large room - which then defeats the purpose of an "office".

1. Desk -

I like mine to have a bit of storage space, or cubby shelves if you will - just for random things that I might need. And I tend to like lighter colors, Whites, Grays, Neutrals. For our Office, it will either be set up two ways - depending on how much room we have! If we only have a tad bit of space for an office area, the first desk listed down below would work perfect. Add a cute chair, fluffy rug, a lamp, plant, etc.. and BOOM. You have yourself a cute space. Now if we have a whole room dedicated to technology, that changes a bit - as you have more space to work with.

Here is a couple options!

Axess Computer Desk with Hutch - $148.99! (From Wayfair, similar ones on Amazon) Has just enough space, a drawer, and some extra little spaces for extra things! (For smaller spaces) - Another example for a smaller desk is the Safavieh Home Collection Kaplan White Desk - $178.50! (Amazon)

A simple white table top desk from Ikea would be good for larger spaces, basic but cute! And easy to work with when decorating!

Now that you've got your desk picked out, you need somewhere to sit. I believe a cute, comfortable chair is what you need. So not only does it look good in your office, but your butt doesn't hurt after sitting for a while.

2. Office Chair -

Okay so you've gotten the main furniture you need.. what's next? The smaller furniture/accessories of course! It's the little things that count.

3. A Fun Rug -

This one is a hit and miss for some people. Just because it can be kind of tricky to roll your chair back on rugs, depending on the types you have. For mine, I plan to get a furry type rug that is an accent color to my office. Possibly pink, but I don't know how my husband would feel about that, so might have to stick with gender neutral colors. I was thinking white and light blue with a little bit of rose gold. Too girly? Let's hope not!

I like this Home Dynamic Elle Kids Arctic Polar Area Rug - $35.99 (WayFair), one because of the color and two, because you could really just cut it into a fun shape if you wanted. But anything like this in the color of your choosing would be perfect!

I feel like either of these is a must. Just because you have big furniture pieces, doesn’t mean you don’t need other things to fill the room.

4. A Lamp, A Plant, Or Both -

Lamps. These could be modern, fun, statements, basic, you name it. Not only is it a room filler, but you're gonna need it eventually. So you might as well plan ahead, and make it match!

5. Bookcase -

Since it's your office you might as well make it a library too! Fill it to the brim with all your books, if your a reader.. and read away in your spare time! OOH! That leads us to #6!

6. A Comfy Ass Chair -

Put this in an empty corner of your room, with a cute pillow or blanket draped across it - so cute! And a perfect spot to sit while your reading!

- Baxton Studio Thalassa Arm Chair - $199! (WalMart) 2 of these would be cute against a wall with cute table in the middle, with accent flowers on top!

- Mainstays No Tools 2 x 1 Cube - $15-$18 for a set of 2! (WalMart)

Okay.. NOW all the furniture pieces are out of the way we can focus on whats really important here.

7. Stationary -

You can never have enough stationary, at least not in my world. It's just too cute. I always get so excited when I get new notebooks or pens, or anything really. Lol, I know I can't be the only one that feels this way? I love sets because they include everything, and just too darn cute. Especially the ones at Walmart.

Since were on the topic of Stationary, that brings me to #8.

8. Planner -

A good planner is MUST MUST MUST. Keep your life organized damn it.

- Mine is currently from Amber Lotus, And was really inexpensive! I love it!

9. Organization Tools -

Things such as Pen holders, Cord Organizer, Bulletin Board, and Dry Erase Boards will make your life a whole lot easier. Especially when your working!

Last but not least.. the easiest and prettiest of them all..

10. Flowers & Decor -

You're probably thinking what that has to do with an office? Well I don't know about you but pretty, good smelling flowers make me smile. And if their on your desk, then what reason do you have to not smile? Make them match your office and decor, and it'll be stunning. The decor part is obvious, you want your room to be cute, no? Add some pictures, statement pieces, and wah la. You've got yourself One. Cute. Office. Space.

- Something like this would be super cute on your small table.

- For mine where’d I’d have the chair and tables, above that I‘d like to put 3 similar art work pieces in the colors of the room. This one is from Z Gallerie, but way too pricey! So this is just an idea.
